Seven parts · one course

The course gives you the Catalan. The rest of Mica gives you somewhere to use it — a neighbourhood, a radio show, people who write back.

01The premise

Sentences you'd
actually say.
Your life, in Catalan.

Most language apps serve everyone the same generic lines—“he is a man”, “the cat is under the table”—whether or not they will ever matter. Mica starts with your interests, routines, neighbourhood and real mistakes, then turns them into language you are likely to use. Most apps serve everyone the same generic lines — “the cat is under the table” — whether or not they will ever matter. A post-match exchange becomes listening practice.

You keep missingen / hi

It keeps coming back, in different sentences, until it settles.

You need to dotalk to neighbours

You've rehearsed the likely question before a neighbour asks it.

02The course

A real route from first words
to independent Catalan.

Mica follows the CPNL progression from A1 to B2: a visible path of units, not an endless feed of disconnected exercises.

  • One visible CPNL-aligned route from A1 to B2
  • Every daily round is picked from where you are in the course
  • An exam at each level boundary

At the counter

«Vols res més?»

You knew it was coming.

03The Neighbourhood

Leave the lesson.
Walk into the conversation.

The bakery, the market, the pharmacy, the neighbour at the door—Mica rehearses the interaction, including what people are likely to ask next.

Knowing the rule and using it at the counter are two different skills.

04The Conjugation Gym

Every pronoun.
Every useful tense.

35 verbs, six tenses, every person. Drill one tense at a time, just your weak spots, or everything mixed together.

It is the part Ryan uses most.

05Register

Correct Catalan is not always
the Catalan people use.

Mica keeps the textbook form, the natural street form and the expressions to avoid side by side. A textbook answer still counts — Mica just shows you what a neighbour would say.

Ryan's populated Register with 79 expressions grouped into four natural-speech families.

See the evidence.
Keep the pressure out.

Track the course, verb coverage, weak patterns, vocabulary and the mosaic built by completed practice—without streaks or a growing debt number.

07The World

Friends, radio, news
in the Catalan you have.

Mica writes you a world: one-to-one chats, a group conversation, a radio show, local news and culture — all at the level you can read now.

  • Characters remember what has happened
  • Stories reflect your interests and neighbourhood
  • Listening and reading grow with the course
